Aqua-Flora Rolls
Aqua-Flora rolls, also known as shore rolls or vegetation rolls, consist of a coir fiber roll in which various shore and marsh plants are pre-grown. In practice, they are also referred to as aquatic plants. After planting, the rolls are placed in the basins, where they remain for at least one full growing season to develop an optimal root and rhizome package.
This pre-growth period is one of the unique aspects that distinguish our Aqua-Flora products. Together with the high density of plants per meter and the carefully selected vegetation species combined with undeniable environmental benefits, our Aqua-Flora rolls are truly unique.
Application
Aqua-Flora rolls are ideal for shore finishing along steep slopes, in deep pond berms, and for greening vertical shores. Often, Aqua-Flora rolls are fastened between a double row of iwooden stakes, with the situation on-site being decisive. In locations where water depths exceed 20cm, additional measures need to be taken to install the Aqua-Flora rolls at the correct height.
Aqua-Flora rolls can also serve as a pre-shore or breakwater. But they are even used as eco-ridges in wildlife passages, such as underpasses of bridges or culverts.

Customization
If you or your client wish to devise or have already drafted a plant scheme, that’s not a problem! Almost anything is possible. However, please note that this may affect the delivery time.
Do you have completely different plant species in mind? Together, we’ll assess whether they are suitable for pre-growing in our rolls. Please be aware that, in addition to a longer lead time, there may be additional costs depending on the chosen plant species.
Anti-grazing Construction
When installing Aqua-Flora rolls in areas with many waterfowl, we recommend using an anti-grazing construction. This ensures that the plants can root firmly in the ground during the initial period. After this phase, the anti-grazing construction can be removed, significantly reducing the risk of uprooting. The standard anti-grazing construction consists of a row of bamboo stakes with mesh folded over them, secured with cable ties or staples. If necessary, this standard construction can be deviated from. Grazing, trampling, etc., are not covered by the warranty.
Maintenance and Warranty
Aqua-Flora mats and rolls require little to no maintenance. For those who have no time or interest in performing maintenance themselves, we offer professional support in the form of maintenance contracts. Our standard maintenance advice is available for download.
We provide a warranty on our Aqua-Flora materials, provided they are installed by us. The warranty terms are detailed in our quotations.
