Renovation of gabion structure for the municipality of Purmerend

On behalf of the Municipality of Purmerend, we were tasked with dismantling and rebuilding an existing gabion wall structure. As you can see, there was significant subsidence, which could have several causes, such as miscalculating the structure or failing to use geotextile for the retaining gabions (resulting in soil displacement).

Additionally, the stone filling on the visible sides was not manually placed, and the correct stone gradation was not entirely used, leading to some damage being observed. In short, it was time for replacement.

We were able to partially reuse the stone filling and supplemented it where necessary. In total, 85m² of gabion was replaced.
