Aqua-Flora Plants
We also offer loose Aqua-Flora planting suitable for various applications such as helophyte filters for additional cleaning of waste or runoff water. Some plant species can even break down heavy metals from the soil. Loose planting can be excellently combined with our Aqua-Flora mats and rolls, for example, by first placing a row of mats or rolls and then adding loose planting behind them, up the slope. This way, you widen the nature-friendly shore.
Types and Sizes
We have deliberately chosen not to offer a standard plant list, given the enormous variety of choices. All the plant species mentioned in our Aqua-Flora mats and rolls are also available loose. Additionally, there are countless other possibilities.
The most requested size for a shore plant with us is a P9 (9x9x10cm). However, everything from seed to plug, to liter pot, is possible.
Anti-grazing Construction
When applying loose planting in areas with many waterfowl, we recommend using an anti-grazing construction. This ensures that the plants can root firmly in the ground during the initial period. After this phase, the anti-grazing construction can be removed, significantly reducing the risk of uprooting. The standard anti-grazing construction consists of a row of bamboo stakes with mesh folded over them, secured with cable ties or staples. If necessary, this standard construction can be deviated from.
Warranty
Unfortunately, we cannot offer a warranty on loose planting. The risk of leaching, trampling by waterfowl/dogs, grazing by waterfowl, etc., is too great. Therefore, we always advise, where possible, to install an Aqua-Flora mat or roll (possibly with anti-grazing construction). For these products, we do offer a growth guarantee.
